greatest month ever!!!!!!! (cuz it's the month of my birth)
CAN I APPLY 'BACK- BAD LUCK' (kinda like back date or back pay) TO MY SEVEN YEARS BAD LUCK FROM THIS BROKEN MIRROR?
SO FAR IN NOVEMBER...
election day... I stood in line for sooo long which included some interesting commentary by an interesting couple && the lady was voting alone based on one of the adds she saw on tv hahhahahha WOW!
ALSO HOPING SOMEONE ELSE WILL EAT THE REST OF THE HALLOWEEN CANDY SO THAT I WILL NOT.
(BTW, I don't eat the orange sweetarts... I'm the same way with skittles too)
I THINK LAFFY TAFFY & POPSICLE STICK JOKES ARE SO FUNNY. SERIOUSLY, I CRACK UP AT THIS STUFF :)
AND THE ANSWER IS...

I TRIED TO GET A PICTURE OF THIS OLDER LADY... SHE WALKED ACROSS THE CROSSWALK IN FRONT OF ME AT A LIGHT ON A BUSY STREET. SHE WAS BY HERSELF AND WAS CARRYING A SINGLE MYLAR BALLOON AND SOME ROSES. I THOUGHT IT WAS SO SWEET BECAUSE SHE ONE OF THOSE FEW PEOPLE IN LIFE THAT TAKES THE EXTRA EFFORT ON SOMEONE'S SPECIAL DAY TO GET THEM A LIL SOMETHIN EVEN IF THEY HAVE TO WALK TO VONS SOLO TO DO SO :)
SO I SNAPPED THIS PIC AND AFTER THE LIGHT CHANGED AND I WAS DRIVING ALONG SINGING TO THE BAND PERRY ON THE RADIO I NOTICE THAT THE GUY IN THAT BLUE CAR IS PLAYING THE HARMONICA WHILE HE WAS DRIVING! HOW FUN!
& tonight my nephew and I had a late night quesadilla picnic on the kitchen floor!
&& interestingly enough quesadilla is not in my spell check ;)

Minnie, what's a redneck?
So tonight on our way home my nephew asks me what a redneck is. We were listening to Gretchen Wilson's Redneck Woman on the radio. I have decided that that song shall be my favorite of the day!
So I chuckle a little, then think of how to explain. Well I tried typical geographic location...venacular... 'style' and then explaining a sunburn on the back of one's neck would give you a red neck. haha I don't think he got it but I may just have to show him some example pictures. These are a few things I found when I googled it.

Okay, so you know when your workin on your fitness and a song comes on that just gets you... well this happens to me when i go for a jog. There is usually this one song that just consumes me and makes me smile or laugh and i just want to start singing it outloud but for fear of being the wierd girl that runs in the dark park singing I hold it in. I do from time to time mouth the words :) So as I set out on my jog on Tuesday I hit shuffle on my ipod like usual and took off. About 15 minutes into it Leona Lewis came on and I became consumed by her song HAPPY cuz it simply made me so so happy!

computer issues....
so, it has been sooo long since i have updated my blog... my computer does not connect to the internet which means i am rarely online and when i am i have no access to my pictures which are what my blog is mostly about. so until i get my computer functioning properly the span between posts will continue to grow :(

better things can fall together...
So here's the scoop on my vida...
I took off on my adventure at the beginning of June by first flying to Seattle and then taking off on the drive upon my return. With an ambitious itinerary set forth I was ready to go. On my first solo driving leg of the trip I drove a 10 hour day from San Francisco to Salt Lake City. I found some fun sights along the way and took many pictures. I stayed at a less than desirable hotel in SLC…we’re not in Kansas anymore or more like not with Mom and Dad haha. I was just fine with the drive but was already stressing about the later part of my trip and the logistics because things were just not working out timing wise with friends being around when I would be in their region. This was going to defeat the purpose of my adventure if I was going to attend baseball games solo since I was only interested in tackling the driving part solo. Anyway after removing the bedspread and sleeping on my own blankets in this hotel room I woke up at 4am to get out the door and on route to Colorado for a 1pm game. After lugging my things out and checking out of the hotel I was on my way. In Wyoming my heart sank as I turned to my backseat and realized I had not lugged out all of my things from the hotel room. I was already a few hours into the day and panicked. I made the decision to return for my things knowing I would not make the Colorado game.
Here comes the moment of truth: back tracking, missing a game, when can I fit it in? what am I going to do? RE-Evaluation time! What is most important to me, am I going to have fun rushing through all of these games and I already missed one? The most important question… What would make Malyssa happy? Suddenly I realized that re-routing my trip would.
So I skipped Colorado stayed the night in a delightful hotel in Cheyenne “Little America,” ordered room service, watched TV & called the Iowa Fam!
SOMETIMES THINGS FALL APART, SO BETTER THINGS CAN FALL TOGETHER!
It was wonderful to spend time with Uncle Brian & Aunt LoLo
I had a blast at the Twins game with Aunt Jane & Mike
From there on out my new plans worked out perfectly. The timing was great to visit my family. Since I would not be with my Dad on fathers day it was nice to be a part of the Oelwein Fathers day! I was with Uncle Brad & family while Heather was with my Dad and family- what a fun Dad swap!
I went back to Colorado. This time around my college friend Jenny was in town (which she was not when I had originally planned to hit the Rockies) and I got to meet her husband and son. It was fun to attend the Rockies game with Matt & Kylan because Matt is a true Rockies fan, which gave me the inside scoop on the players and Kylan is just thee sweetest child.
*they just returned from figi & had a great cocktail recipe to try out*
I got to see my cousin John who is simply one of my favorite people in the whole world!

& the timing worked out to see my bestie Roni
then came the great escape from Texas... which i thought may never end

I am convinced that Holiday Inn is trying to take over the world... If you don't believe me just take a look. They are everywere with their fab new express signs and all!
&& this is for sure the cheapest rate you will ever find because they think they can charge like $150 min in most places! outrageous, it's the holiday inn!
Gotta pick up a few fireworks for the Nephew :)
